Type of a scam Tech Support
We were contacted by a company that said they were affiliated with AOL and Microsoft. They said that their name was "my technical support llc". They said that there was a bug in our newly purchased Laptop and that they could install a software fix. We agreed to pay $299.00 for 5 years of unlimited Software Support that included the network tool/Firewall. We also agreed to a lifetime of IP Blocker for $149.99. This also included Unlimited Technical Support for AOL mail and Optimizer Unlimited Support. For payment, they needed our Bank routing number and our checking account number. We gave those to them. They said that a technician would contact us once a month for servicing and a regular checkup. We allowed them access to our laptop a month ago and haven’t heard from them since. They just deducted the money from our checking account.
They did give us a toll free phone number of 800-920-2270.
