Type of a scam Debt Collections
The caller knew my personal information and was trying to get me to pay over the phone upon initial contact. I asked for a Debt Verification Letter to be mailed to me via the US Postal Service; "Fran" attempted to tell me that her client may not wait that long, but did send me an email. The email was on Mutual Resolutions LLC letterhead and contained a lender, account number, reference number and balance; however, the email did not contain any address, phone or fax number. "Fran" has called and threatened to contact my spouse’s employer; the original message was only addressed to me. I informed "Fran" that I would be validating her company upon receipt of the letter, but did inform her that company could not be found on the ScamPulse.com website. She hung up on me, but called back on a different state’s area code and left a mildly threatening voicemail. My concern is that she knew my SSN, DOB, address, full legal name and my spouse. I have placed a Fraud Alert on my credit report, requested a credit report and filed with the FTC.
