Multnomah County Sheriff

Type of a scam Phishing

I got a phone call on my home phone (shortly after 2 pm on 11/14 from a Beaverton, Oregon number) from a man claiming to be a Multnomah County Sheriff calling to inform me of a warrant out for my arrest for not showing up for jury selection (but not the usual kind). He went on about how I should have received my first notice in early August and when I didn’t respond, another notice was sent later in August and when I didn’t "show up" for jury selection, a warrant for my arrest was issued and was "elevated to a felony". None of this sounded plausible, so I started asking questions about the name of the judge in this supposed case, asked his name again and badge number and then he said he would give me my warrant number but first needed to put me on hold. He never returned. Big surprise. I don’t know what a scam like this would have been trying to get out of me so I am perplexed. Perhaps, had we stayed on the phone longer, he may have wanted me to pay "bail" over the phone. ?? That’s all I can think of. Upon my asking, he told me the judge’s name was Nan Waller (male), his name was Sgt. Kevin Sizemore and his badge number was 7311. All bogus. It concerns me that he began the call with having my name, my address, and obviously my home phone number that he called me on.
