Type of a scam Credit Cards

I provide a hauling service in Indiana and David Johnson with Multi Scope Logistics in California contacted me needing 30 boxes of computers/printers stacked on a pallet and shrink wrapped. The packages were in a storage unit. I met with storage facility manager and he gave me keys to open unit. All of the boxes were there and I stacked them neatly and shrink wrapped the boxes. The job went fine until I was going to get paid by credit card. We had agreed on $150 for services rendered before I started the job. I take credit cards over the phone all the time with my business and input them right into my phone as customer is telling it to me. I prefer not writing them down to ensure someone else would not see the information. Within an hour of $150 payment transaction, I had a gentleman that lived 2 hours north of me asking about a $150 charge on his credit card. I had NO contact with this person up until now, so red flags started going off. I called David Johnson right back to figure out issue and he said to refund the money to the original credit card owner and he would give me another one. I ran the second credit card twice on my phone app through Square and both times it was declined. David Johnson said to give him about an hour and he would have another card number for me. He called, but I did not answer so he emailed me card info this time. I did not run card number because he had given me 3 cards from 3 different states/zip codes. I was very skeptical at this point and told David Johnson that services rendered were free.
