Type of a scam Tech Support
The company contacted and told me they were Kaspersky.
They informed me my subscriptionwas about to expire.
I am a senior citizen.
They continued to log into my computer and "install" programs to keep my computer secure.
They told me it was a "lifetime" offer and would never expire.
They continued to call me from 877-249-8558 to"check" to see if the systems were working.
The names of the caller changed – Paula William, Paula Williams, Paul Williams and Paula Desai.
They asked for payment:
The invoice was from Montech Technologies
The told me that Montech is a "subsidery" of Kaspersky
They wanted me to scan them a check
The amount is 649.94.
I would not send a check
I used Paypal and American Express.
I then did some research about Kaspersky and Montech
Kaspersky confirmed they do not work with Montech
They do not offer any lifetime products
When you try to use www.montechsupport.com – It flashes as a Threat of data loss.
When you look up MONTECH – it brings you to MANTA –
Manta informs you that Montech is no longer available.
I have cancelled my Credit Cards
I will cancel my paypal account today
This is a total scam – I cannot afford 649.00 dollars.
I do not anyone to go through what I have been through.
MONTECH is claiming they are Kaspersky – they are not an affilliate of Kaspersky.
I want the world to know!
I am waiting for the resolution from the Fraud Department of American Express and *** ***.
As of this morning, I have not lost money
I hope this is over.
If you need additional documents I will go to *** and scan them
I am not able to get an address or phone number for MONTECH anywhere.
I am angry and embarrassed.
