I recently opened an account with DTE energy. Approximately three months later I received a notification from my credit karma account, that I had a new account in collections from Midwest Recovery. Naturally, I disputed the account because I just started my service, and I still have it. So, there was no way it could be in collections. They did not respond to my dispute within the required 30 day time period. I have called two different numbers on different occasions and I have yet to get any one on the phone. Someone from TransUnion entered another dispute on my behalf and I still haven’t heard anything back. If Midwest Recovery, did in fact have an open account with me for 30 days, I was never notified. I did not become aware of this collection agency until it showed up on my credit report. Had I been, I could have stopped this account from ever making it to credit report, because it is invalid, and inaccurate.
