Called saying that they were from Microsoft and offering a refund. Told my mom that she had to enter information into "Team Viewer" website, which is actually a remote access software, but mom didn’t know that. They then faked her bank account screen to look like she owed them $5,000. They threatened her and told her they were going to report her to the police if she didn’t go to WalMart and buy $5K in gift cards because they didn’t have wire transfer. They called her chronically and repeatedly until she purchased the cards, then threatened her further if she didn’t scratch each one and give them the pin number.
