My wife’s laptop had several pop-ups on the same screen. 2 in the bottom right corner with warnings and 1 large in the middle. It said Micro soft! She tried to exit out but it just kept coming back. It said if she turned off her computer the info on all personal financial information would be in jeopardy. It said to dial 844-721-3021. She was on the phone with a man with an Indian accent. She let him in the computer where he took over. After a half an hour I took over the phone call. He was actually in the computer going thru millions of files. He brought up a screen that I had no clue what it meant, nor could I understand his heavy Indian accent. He transferred me to what he said, was a technician. He was also Indian. He then typed on the screen everything that was wrong with the computer and wanted $300 to fix it. It was then I asked him if this was just a sales pitch. He got extremely upset and said that I was wasting his time and he was the one trying to help me. When I told him to get out of the computer, he got more upset and started to yell. I could here others in the background like a call center. I hung up on him and took my computer in to have it cleaned out and had all my passwords changed on all my accounts immediately. I feel bad for my wife who let them into our computer. She feels awful. Don’t let this happen to you. Hopefully, this will help someone else.

I think it was Tech Support. It is suppose to be Micro Soft telling me about Office 365. I have purchased it in the past but have not gotten it yet. He says he has checked my computer. I have received these calls numerous times last year and thought they had quit. 3-7-2016 I received a call at 7:04 am from out of area 45-4156. It awoke me up and when I answer he will start about not having Office 365. I have checked with Miro Soft and they said they would not call me. I received another call this morning at 8:07 am and I did not answer it. It is the same number. I will not answer this call anymore. I did this last year but who ever this is called me 4 to 5 times a day. They finally stopped then.

I received a phone call from a gentleman claiming to be from MicroSoft. He said that my computer needed more protection because they upgraded their information. He said there would a small fee ($10.00 for two years. He then asked for my debt card number but I did not give it to him. He did take over my computer and then asked if I did online banking and I said no. He really wanted my debit card number. I told him I could send a check but he said no, only a debit card number.
