Type of a scam Government Grant
My grandmother contacted me telling me about a new federal grant that helps the elderly, disabled, or poor. She said the website had gone down but she had the private phone number of U.S. Attornery Micheal Snow. She said he was in charge of the federal grant and to contact him saying I was referred by her. He asked for a bunch of cofidentional information and then told me I needed to pay a delivery fee for an insane amount of money. I was very concerned at this point and messaged my grandmother several times to make sure this was legitimate. Who reassured me that everything was fine and he was a good man. He said the grant would arrive in 24 hours. When it didnt come I asked to receive a tracking number in which he wouldn’t give. Then he asked for a picture of a $100 Google gift card. I confronted my relative again and confirmed this was a scam. I immediately changed my bank password and proceeded to contact the proper authorities.
