I got a mail 1 week before for an interview in Merk and co pharmaceutical. He introduced himself as Hr of the company and said position opened now is for admin assistant/ data entry. Then asked me choose an time for interview through glip. Next day I had the interview. I thought it will be a video call but he started asking questions through chat. When answering the questions itself I felt like he is copy pasting all the questions. But questions adhere so genuine and relevant you the job. After the interview next day morning a got the appointment letter from merk pharmaceutical itself. I felt bit doubtful as he didn’t even ask me about my visa status. And also not even having a telephonic conversation, how can some one hire a person with 24 dollar / hr with all the medical, 401k, company stock etc. that’s when I felt doubt and googled him online. Couldn’t find his profile on LinkedIn or anywhere. That’s how I read other people experience in this site. Even I got the same mail others have uploaded. Felt cheated and as wasted around 1 hour for the interview and somewhere in between I felt happy as I landed in a job. Beware of the scam guys. Playing with someone’s feelings can’t be supported in any manner

A friend forwarded an email from The Ladders Job site. This person said he was from Merck looking for Customer Service/Data Entry applicants. I made contact and sent my resume and had been contacted and told to open an AOL account so that we can speak via AIM.

I went through normal interview questions and a few odd questions looking back. They said I was accepted and would be overnighting me a check, which they did, to buy office equipment. I placed it in my bank. Then thought better of it. Called the bank, called Merck and realized my mistakes.
