I received a call from a local San Martin number which I thought I recogonized. The female caller said that they were a medical alert company and the call was being recorded. Then the caller asked if I could hear her and of course I responded yes. She sounded professional and she caught me off guard. At that point the call disconnected. What did I say yes to? I am concerned.

I received a call this morning with 405 area code and thought it might be doctor’s office calling. I answered and when I did she said, Can you hear me? I said without thinking of a scam, Yes, but I don’t need one. After I hung up, I just knew I had heard about a scam wanting you to say Yes. I felt like an [censored]. Immediately after hanging up I received another call from 972 number. I received a 2nd call tonight from the 972 number. I have DO NOT CALL and if it recognizes a sales call it only rings once. I am wondering if they are calling back under another number but I refuse to pick up. I am afraid I have been scammed.

I’m reporting on behalf of my elderly mother. This happened on 2/02/2016. The person told her it was a gift from a relative and asked my mother for her credit card number. They did get her number and I have since cancelled her card. They identified themselves as medical alert system and used the following number: 1-800-615-8364
