The phone rang it was a number within our village so I answered. The caller announced herself as a medical alert specialist, asked if I could hear her. I said yes and she hung up.

At 9:16 am on 10/18/17, a male voice called and identified himself as a "medical alert specialist" and then asked "can you hear me okay?". Without recalling previous warnings of this type of call, I responded, "yes". There was no further conversation so I hung up.

They try to get you to reply yes to a recorded phone introduction then they hang up. It is clear that they are trying to get your "yes" so that they can use your voice to bill / charge you for unauthorized purchases. I get about 4 of these a day from an assortment of phone numbers, most with my area code. It’s crazy. I will be changing my phone number at some point. It’s been happening to me for months. Filed a complaint to the FTC but they didn’t do anything.
