Ordered a paint by number kit in March or early April. I have never received the product. Have contacted company and received response that it takes a while to process and mail. I believe this must be a scam company, although some people have received their pbn. Never received and never refunded. Don’t use Max Novelty.

REFUND MY MONEY…my order of paint by numbers placed back in April 2020 has never arrived nor will it.

This despicable company is a SHAM and has no conscience in taking money off trusting customers who place orders in good faith.

Do the persons involved live a corrupt lifestyle through these fraudulently gained funds…are they proud of their deceit. Do their families hold their heads in shame!

People do not make any purchase from them, they are scammers, they are taking money, but you will not receive your item never.

And today already the end of September, i emailed them 2 months ago asking them whenever i csn receive my item, they replied that that the item will be for a delay, but exuse me 7 months…
Also, I emailed them a letter asking to return money back- No Response.

Once they get your money they can’t be bothered with you any more. There are hundreds of complains against them online and several groups of people they cheated on Facebook. Please, warn everyone you know. You can buy the same paintings on Amazon for even less. I wish someone could’ve hold them accountable somehow. We are talking thousands of dollars here after all.

This company advertises paint by number products which I purchased to spend some time during Covid. I ordered a painting and was charged $25US for the painting. It has never arrived and I have reached out 5 times to their support department for info and there has been no response at al. The money was taken immediately from my bank account and no refund or products. Do not buy from them. They seem legit but cannot be as no service would have this lack of communication.

I ordered 2 kits a year ago and have got no response, no kits, no money back. This company is a total scam. I ordered a kit off Amazon and got that in 4 weeks.

I ordered 2 paint by number on March 31st. I still have not received them. They keep blaming the virus, but we have ordered other things from China and they didn’t take this long. Even worse they keep sending you emails to try and get you to buy more. I have complained directly to them, and while they do respond pretty quickly, it does no good. I finally told them I didn’t want the items anymore and wanted a refund. They said sorry, they already shipped! If you don’t want them you can just refuse them. Like I am going to wait by the mailbox for the mail and refuse them. I don’t even know if the mail carrier would take it back, who pays for the return shipping? Today I had had enough, 113 days, 3 1/2 months and counting. I got a refund from my cc co. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !

This company is a scam! I ordered a kit on April 15th, 2020 and it is now July 11th, and no order has been received! It’s impossible to try to track anything with their bogus tracking. And they charged my account immediately for $19.95! This company is out of China and they tried to tell me that it was due to covid-19 . Well I ordered from China recently during the pandemic and received the item in 2 weeks so it’s all lies from this company!

Will be contacting atty General so of Rhode island as noted in their address. They need to be off social media. Beware the f Max Novelty.

Ordered a kit on March 28th. Fast forward to July 2nd and I still have not received my order. I have emailed them 4 times, no response. Then they have the nerve to send me a online review and a 20% off next purchase offer! I filled out the review but when I went to submit it, they somehow put it in a pause status and never went thru. I ordered two sets on 14th and 23rd June I still haven’t got them.I tried numerous times to contact them and only received an answer when I started leaving bad reviews. Of course they promised a refund but now they are saying its in transit so they can’t. Tracking info says its still in bloody China! Biggest scam out!

Thank God I only ordered one PBN. I was going to order a few more but I thought I should wait and see if I even like doing this. Should have known better ordering from a merchant on Facebook. I placed an order for 8 paint by number kits at the 1st of March and have not received anything except 2 tracking #s that were invalid. This ridiculous and if I’d realized when I placed the order that they were shipping from China I would have never ordered.

I purchase a kit in mid-April, 2-3 weeks before Mother’s Day. They said, with COVID, it should be 10-15 days so I had left plenty of time. I was quite proud of myself for not waiting till the last minute. But of course, it never arrived. I have sent them three emails at their support e-mail (they conveniently have no phone number) with all the relevant information including my tracking number (which the tracking system doesn’t even recognize), each increasing in urgency, but I still have yet to hear anything back in any way. So…I guess I have no recourse and the money is just lost. What a shame.

I order 4 PBN kits on April 10th . I received a fake tracking number number and an email from some guy who I also believe is a fake stating that the delay is due to COVID-19 . I am not sure why you would be worried about COVID-19 if you are located in providence Road Island. Later finding out this is a Chinese company portraying an American company selling on Facebook and ripping people off!

I feel like the aggressive marketing and dodgy web design should have made me more careful but it got us in a vulnerable moment, which is what scams are all about, right? They have done nothing but give me the run around.It is too complicated for me to track it with their complicated tracking download…I don’t remember my Microsoft numbers. I ordered on April 3rd. Received a message a few days later saying my order had shipped but no tracking number. After a couple of weeks of waiting I tried contacting them through Facebook Messenger only to receive automated responses. I have emailed them several times over the past weeks with no replies. They have removed me and blocked me from their Facebook group and Messenger. I still receive their email ads almost daily, but they still do not respond.

It is definitely a scam! DON’T ORDER ! Ordered a painting on 11the April and never received it. I tried to contact the company many times and have never received a reply.
Shame, I was so happy to get my painting.
I will ask for a refund from my bank but no guerantee.

I ordered my kit on March 23, 2020 and the money was promptly charged to my credit card. I waiting for a few weeks and requested tracking information, which was ignored. Then they put on the blog that you could find your order number on an excel sheet which was bogus. So I told them to cancel my order. No response , so I disputed the charge with my credit card company and received a refund. This is a scam company.

I think they have changed their name to The painting kit. I had the same experience. Noticed the emails are coming from gmail account. Time to call my credit card company. Too bad. I was really looking forward to doing something creative.

I placed an order on April 1st and have not received the product. I thought this would be fun to do while on lockdown. I received one email from them back in April but nothing since. They won’t respond to any of my inquiries about either receiving the product or canceling the order.

Ordered in March and was charged $70. I received a “thank you for your order” with no tracking #. I have emailed them many times for at the very least an update and they will not respond. They do however keep emailing advertisements. I can not understand how their site has not been shut down so that they can not steal from anyone else. I ordered a kit on 4/2/2020. My money was taken on 4/8/2020, and when I asked for shipping information I was instructed to DOWNLOAD an excel spreadsheet and find my order number. I did this numerous times, sometimes finding my order number, sometimes not. After sending them many emails and no longer getting any kind of response, I finally figured out that this company is a SCAM with fake reviews and made-up feedback. I cannot understand why both Instagram and Facebook still allow them to advertise. The weirdest part is that I receive emails from them frequently asking for feedback for my PBN kit How sick is that? I doubt the company is in Rhode Island at all. This is a Chinese flimflam racket.

Very aggressive advertising on FB for paint-by-numbers prints, takes your money and you receive an order number with confirmation email that is not trackable and fraudulent. Never received the product months after ordering it, but money cleared account right away.

Ordered 3 painting April 14th, 2020…no tracking number, no replies from company, tried to email them again nothing. My card was immediately run and still its been 6 weeks and still nothing. I find its amazing how many of us got scammed and I feel pretty stupid for falling for it on FB!

It appears they are also known as Dog Groomers Rock also an online store. The better Business Bureau shows the owners name is James Alderman. This business is a scam.

It looks like this company is really Dog Groomers Rock from Rhode Island. They are also an online seller and can only be reached by e-mail. I wonder if they ever ship their product. The BBB shows the owner as James Alderman. This guy is a scammer! I never received my order from max Novelty and I’m sure I never will. Lesson learned.

I can’t believe I fell for this scam! I ordered 3 kits on 4/2/2020 and have gotten nowhere with my email requests for updates. My grandkids were excited to have something to look forward to when the quarantine first started. What an awful thing to do to people! The tracking method is ridiculous. I ordered two paint by number pieces on April 7th. I was told I would receive a tracking number, I never did. $39.90 was withdrawn from my account. Every time I contact them they give me a list of thousands of numbers to check. I never did receive the tracking number to do so.

My experience echoes most on this thread. I clicked on an ad on FB and was taken to a very legitimate looking website. I ordered 03/27/2020. I was given a tracking number which took me to a complicated spreadsheet in which my tracking number was not displayed. I did receive an email with an alternative way to track, but It says that my order is not in the system. The company says that the delays are due to Covid-19, but a quick look at the BBB site shows that these issues have been going on for years. I wish that I had checked them out before I ordered, but it just looked so legitimate. In the meantime, I receive 3 to 4 emails per day offering new products. I would NOT recommend buying from this company! They are either scammers, or in completely over their heads.

This company based in china needs to be investigated…i like so many others have lost money and had no communication or goods sent. I am from Australia and i thought i was paying in aust dollars but saw on my card statement it had been charged in US dollars, almost double!

Same here, saw an add on Facebook & ordered paint by number at the beginning of April. (April 2) My credit card was charged immediately. Wasn’t sent a tracking number, never received my order.

The site indicated I would receive an email in 2-3 days with a tracking number. I never received a tracking number. My credit card was charged for this order. I emailed the company three times asking when to expect delivery, but without response.. There is no phone number to call for support/information. Obviously not a legitimate business. Max Novelty continues to send me emails with offers for 10% to 20% off purchase.
Is there any way to investigate and shut down this scam?

Same as the other complaints. Placed an order in mid March. Received confirmation and they certainly accepted my payment. Two weeks later I requested tracking information and received an apology for the delay and a written confirmation that my order had shipped and I would see a tracking number shortly. Six weeks after purchase and I have not received my order or even a tracking number. No responses to my last two requests for update. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY.

They have ceased to provide responses regarding refunds, kept reiterating that the COVID situation have impacted their shipping timelines, which is bull[censored] when they have failed to provide any tracking details. I ordered my item mid march and still NOTHING. NO tracking number ever sent. I’ve tried emailing them over 10 times over the past few weeks and absolutely NO response. This company is a COMPLETE FRAUD. Do NOT order from them. I want my money back!

I’ve reported them to Facebook as a scam, suggest you do the same!

Pretty much the same experience as everyone else here – ordered kit on 3/30, it is now 4/20 and I haven’t heard a peep from this company, even after sending two email inquiries. Looking at the dates everyone here ordered and the dates now that everyone is reporting these scammers, it looks like all of us responded to the same fraudulent ad campaign. Ugh.

I ordered a paint by number kit for my mother’s birthday in mid-March. It’s April 20th (mom’s birthday has come and gone) and although I got a confirmation email I never got a shipment notice and my mother hasn’t received it. When I inquired last week I got an auto-reply saying due to COVID they are experiencing delays in both response times and shipments. Based on my research, this company has been having these issues since early 2018 and the Better Business Bureau has a negative file on them. Whoops, didn’t do my due diligence before this purchase, ugh. I’m filing with my credit card company to get my money back.

I have the same thing going on with this company and I really don’t understand because he ordered off of Amazon and they can get it out to you in a reasonable time with the virus going on I would really like my money back and I don’t know how to go about doing it because I didn’t pay with PayPal

Never received items. Try to track and got a spreadsheet. You needed to find your order number on the spreadsheet and get the tacking number. My order number was never on the spreadsheet. I tried to email support never for a response. No number to call. Pretty sure I got scammed. What an ugly thing to do especially in times like this.

ordered 2 paint by numbers. Even got an email from the company on submitting a review and getting $$ off my next order. Unfortunately, I never got my order. Upon reading the other reviews, I’m nervous. Of course the payment went through on my credit card.

I placed an order and 8 days later they said they shipped. No tracking info nothing. They don’t reply. But from reliable sites, this definitely is not one of them

Uggghhhh! Me too! Ordered 2 “kits”…confirmation received…paid in full…and NOTHING! Same story as the rest…emailed over and over…got tracking number…Doesn’t Exist!

The response I received was no tracking number listed on a bogus package tracking site, and "Don’t worry :)", which of course made me worry. Looked up the company online and found tons of complaints from others that also never received anything but were charged.

This person claims to sell many different types of merchandise. I purchased two paint by numbers kits from him at $40.00 back in August of 2017 and to date still have not received either a refund or the merchandise. I have however received fake tracking numbers, a tracking number that stated that the merchandise was returned due to not being able to read the delivery address, promises of resending out the merchandise. After turning this site into Facebook as a scam, I see that they are still on there with multiple names: MaxNovelty, Painting By Numbers, Max Novelty Paint, Max Novelty PBN, Max Novelty DIY, there is even a Facebook Max Novelty Scam page now.

D an email receipt indicating the product would be shipped in “5-20 days if in the US”, which is preposterous. Still haven’t received the product and it’s been over 35 days.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM. Ordered $23.90 worth of merchandise. Hadn’t heard anything in over 2 weeks, so I emailed and was given a tracking number, which showed that the items hadn’t been scanned at all. James Alderman said "Updates will be available soon. Don’t worry, your money is safe with us." Smiley faces all over the email. So I waited and checked 2 weeks later. The items had been scanned, but hadn’t moved at all in 2 weeks. So I emailed asking for a simple refund. I was sent basically the same email with the same tracking website that said "Don’t worry about it. All set!" So now I have not gotten items and am not able to get a refund despite the website clearly stating that refunds are given with "no questions asked".

I saw an ad for paint-by-number kits sold by Max Novelty on Facebook. I clicked through to their website, which looked very official, and the products looked interesting. Little pop-ups kept coming up at the bottom of the page announcing people buying the kits in "real time," which made it seem as though the kits were very popular. I decided to order one, and received a confirmation saying that due to high volumes of orders, it could take up to 30 days to ship. After almost 30 days of no further contact, I emailed the only contact address I could find, which appeared to be someone’s personal gmail account. I received a reply with a tracking number, showing the shipment originated in China. Most of the status updates were in Chinese, so I couldn’t understand them, but it appeared that they shipped my product the day they sent my tracking number. After a month, I still had not received my order, and there were no updates on the tracking website. My package just showed as "In transit." I sent another email asking for a status update and got no reply. A quick internet search at this point revealed several people on complaintsboard.com telling stories similar to mine. They all placed orders around the same time I did and either did not receive a product or received damaged products.

I clicked on a Facebook add for a paint by numbers kit and was taken to what looked like a legit business (https://maxnovelty.com). I ordered 3 kits, went through a normal checkout process, but didn’t get a confirmation number or email. Just an option to sign up for text alerts when the product ships. My card was charged, it said Max Novelty but the email was something to do with dog groomers. I never heard back, I emailed the customer support and was put in contact with a James Alderman ([email protected]) who pretended to be helpful but never actually gave me any information.

I ordered a pant by numbers DIY kit from them and I never received it, its been a month. I’ve had back and forth email exchanges with a James Malderman. He was very responsive at first. Then he gave me a fake tracking number and email message that read:

After this he did not answer any more of my emails. I did a search on Facebook for his company and apparently this has been a problem with others. I still have not gotten my product.

I have received nothing and find that the only way to contact the merchant is through email with an order # in the RE: line of the email. I didn’t get an order # nor an email, however, I did get charged.
