Type of a scam Employment
Consumer received text message from someone saying he had work for him. The consumer never learned what the work was or who it was he would be employed by. He then received a cashier’s check in the mail from Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 2945 Pheonix, AZ 85062. It also had the name Maureen McGuire on it. The check was for $2350 and he was told that part of the money was for him and the other part was for the job. The consumer was told to text the person when he received the check.
