Same thing happened to me. I ordered 4 of these mini-chain saws for Christmas gifts, but I received 4 hand held pruning saws. I ran the purchase through PayPal and then filed a complaint through PayPal. The first resolution offer was a $50.00 refund on a $108.00 purchase and I keep the 4 junk hand saws, which by the way he is selling on his website for $9.99. I refused. So he agreed to offer me a full refund if I sent the junk saws back. The USPS wants $63.00 to send them back to China and UPS wants $157.00 to send them back. LOL This guy is a real piece of work. He is making profit no matter what he does. I’m still waiting for a resolution from PayPal. This is my last response to them.

Not as described – claim
Case ID: PP-D-90356443

The seller has offered a full refund if I send back what he sent in error or on purpose. To send the items back to China it will cost $63.00 USPS or $157.00
UPS. This was a $108.00 transaction. What sense does this make. No matter what I do the seller still makes a profit on the transaction and I loose because of his unscrupulous tactics. His first offer was a $50.00 refund and I keep the junk he sent me. I guess I’ll have to accept that offer. If he accepts then I will be paying $58.00 for $20.00 worth of merchandise. If that’s the best that I can do then so be it.

Product ordered mini battery wood cutter chain saw lithium battery. Price $33.00. This was confirmed on email from Mars. Product received was cheap hand saw probable shop price $5.00. When I complained they said you ordered the standard saw! The deluxe one is $ 108.00. I referred them to their email confirming order.
Why would I order a cheap hand saw online for $33.00? Pay Pal ignored complaint. My bank refunded the money. This company has to be stopped.

Joe – Nov 20, 2020

Same happened to me. They are saying I picked that cheap hands as not the chainsaw. I contacted my credit card company.

Anne – Nov 18, 2020

exactly the same happened to me , have been offered $8 refund
.

Tiffany – Nov 17, 2020

I ordered a battery mini chain saw with lithium battery 50% reduction for Xmas. Total cost $33.00. Their email confirmed this order and states battery mini chain saw wood cutter with lithium battery. 50% reduction.
One month later I received a cheap handsaw that can be bought in any shop for $5.00. I emailed the company and they had the temerity to tell me I ordered the standard saw. The deluxe one costs $108.00. Such blatant lies. This company has to be taken down. They are conning and scamming the public. This must be stopped! Fortunately I had contacted my bank as the delivery was taking too long and they refunded my money. I also contacted Pay Pal. No response from them. My advice is only deal with reputable companies such as Amazon. Do not buy from companies that advertise on social media. They are probably working from a bedroom.

I ordered rechargeable chainsaw to help in the garden, received a metal saw, ( of which I already have 2 (only £5 from morrisons), that cost over £25 not happy.

They sent me the same tracking information that I saw on line. I finally contacted PayPal and got a refund instantly because I had not received my product. I did have to provide the email that was on my receipt and explain that I paid with my credit card, but it went to their paypal account.

I purchased 5 of these “LIFELIKE SHARKS” and they are garbage, not worthy of being a dog toy. When I reached out to the MARS196 company, this is their response:
Dear customer,
The shark in the video is made by a computer. There is no such shark toy in reality. What we show on the details page is the shark model we sell, which is also very realistic.
If you are not satisfied, we can give you a partial refund, thank you very much.

I have escalated this as a complaint to paypal. Mars196 has said they will give me $8. I paid $59.97 for 5 of these pieces of crap as gifts. Now they said via paypal that if I return them they MIGHT give me a full refund, and the return cost will be over $30, and it will take 9 weeks. REALLY? I want a full refund, I am glad to return these pieces of crap with a prepaid return label. I AM NOT willing to settle. ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS indicate they intentionally FRAUD their customers.

Jerome – Nov 11, 2020

Connie,
The same thing happened to me, same product, same reply, same issue with having to ship package back for a refund. Needless to say, I didn’t send it back due to shipping cost, I didn’t get a refund and now i’m stuck with a box of toy sharks that by the way, are cheap as all get out. I was so excited about the shark I thought I was going to be able to give my mother for her 75th birthday. I’m also disappointed in pay pal for not backing me up since I do most of my business through them. It has all been very discouraging.

Clayton – Oct 16, 2020

Please contact your credit card company directly to open the dispute. DO NOT open with PayPal they absolutely have no idea of what they are doing. I was refunded within the first 15 minutes of our conversation. I hope this is helpful.

Christy – Oct 02, 2020

I had same experience as all the others. purchased 2 sharks that were not interactive as video displayed. In email they stated the video was computer generated and the cheap plastic non moving sharks I received was correct item. Paypal will not refund my money unless I file a report with an agency. My police dept won’t let me file a report online. With all the complaints paypal is getting, they should be shutting down their transactions to them instead of allowing them to go through. I may still try to file a complaint with another agency.

Candice – Sep 30, 2020

I bought the animatronic baby shark from their facebook advert and received the hard plastic cheap rubbish too. when I messaged them they said the one in the advert was computer generated and didn’t even exist and offered me $4.00

they have denied defrauding me every time. currently have a PayPal case open with then.

Randall – Oct 02, 2020

Paypal won’t reimburse without me filing police reports. No one is going to do this for me. I fell for this scam too and disappointed in paypal since they have had so many complaints against them for this.

I saw an online photo ad posted by Mars196 of a motorized water float at a price of $69.99. It even had a video showing how a person operating the float in a lake. We live on a subdivision lake, so we ordered two of these motorized floats. We had to wait for about 9 weeks before our floats arrived, then we opened them to discover they shipped us two standard non-motorized pool floats (can buy these at Walmart for $10/each). I immediately emailed Mars196 and got no response back. After sending several emails with no response, I filed a dispute through PayPal since I paid them through PayPal. After another 3 weeks, they finally agreed to give me a full refund if I shipped back the wrong ones they had sent me at my expense and they said I had to pay for tracking. I packaged them up, went to the post office to ship them and was told since the products came from China it was going to cost me $108 to ship them back. Why would I pay $140 +$108 just to get the two floats I originally ordered? Needless to say, I believe Mars196 does this as part of their business. They have figured out a way to charge you for something they have no intention of sending you, then they send you a cheap version knowing that you won’t pay to ship it back. So they get the big profit and you get stuck paying 6-7 times more for something you didn’t even want. This company should be shut down – they are totally misrepresenting what they are selling, ripping people off, and making big profits.

Hi to everyone! Oh my…, what an experience! I don’t even know how such frauds keep exciting, well of course we all got interested in the cool shark toy but still, how long have they been doing this? I received a cheap plastic tiny shark that can be bought on amazon for $5 and the most horrifying looking baby Yoda, my 2 year old was shocked 🤦‍♀️ Ugly as hell… Obviously calling the credit company to file a complaint, paid over $50 for the most cheap made toys have ever seen…, and even if as they say they can be returned or don’t meet expectations how can it be done, if there is no order slip, no return slip, not possible and now on their website those products don’t even exist?! Of course a fraud, and I got in something like this first time in my life…Good I took photos And videos with their address attached because now they can’t be found, and saved just because I was sending my husband to look at.., evidence I hope will help to stop this hopefully, i Hope everyone gets their money back and forget about all this! Just a little hiccup Even though very upsetting, good luck 😃

I ordered the life like baby shark that wiggles and growls when it’s tummy is is rubbed. Thats not what I recieved. I paid $68.90 for 2 of them. What I got were 2 small plastic sharks that do nothing. These were for my 2 grandsons birthdays and now I have nothing for them and I am out $68.90.

Donna –

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMMERS! I ordered a toy shark from a video I saw on Facebook. It showed the shark laughing, rolling over, and opening and closing it’s mouth, and it was very flexible. Even the website said the shark is motion activated, rolls over and sings, and requires 4 AA batteries. Fact is, it is a hard piece of plastic that does nothing…it doesn’t even have a slot for batteries. Since their site guaranteed customer satisfaction, I contacted them about returning it (I paid 35.00 with shipping). They said they would give me $4.00 back if I didn’t want to return it. What the hell. They said if I returned it, they would give me $7,00 back but I would have to pay the $30.00 shipping fee. Let me get this straight. I paid $35.00 initially and was scammed on the product. If I want to return the product and pay shipping…with my refund, I end up having to pay with shipping a total of $59.00 for the shark. Even with a refund, they are taking more money than what the original price of the item was. Return it and we get $24.00 more from you. I have fought all week with them to no avail. I finally had to escalate it to Paypal, so hopefully they will sort it out. This customer knows nothing about customer service and doesn’t take responsibility for their deceptive and misleading advertising. I have purchased from other China based companies that stand behind their guarantee, but not MARS196. I trust this companies products and guarantee about as much as I do their viruses.

This company commits complete fraud and scams. I ordered animatronic shark that were supposed to arrive in 5-15 days. Almost a full month later and several inquiries, I discovered it was company from China. When it finally did arrive, it was not what I had ordered at all. Instead of an animatronic shark, it was palm sized, cheap plastic shark you would be able to find at a dollar store. Definitely not worth the $58 I paid. After complaining I was told that they would refund me $10 without having to return the item, OR, if I wanted a full refund I would have to return the item which would likely cost ME $30+. This is a complete scam. Seller does a bait and switch on the product and then refuses to provide a refund instead saying that the buyer has to pay to return the item before a full refund will be given. Do not do business with this company! They will rip you off!

Mars196.store is a complete scam. I agree 100% this store/merchant is not to be trusted. Please get the word out to as many people as possible. I ordered a motorized Inflatable Swimming Pool Lounger for $80. When the package arrived it was a $20 float for a swimming pool. I contacted them about receiving the wrong product. I was told this was not their fault but the fault of their warehouse. I was also told they no longer had the product and sorry for the inconvenience. When I reached back to ask how they were going to fix the problem. I was told they would offer me $25 for my trouble or I could send it back to China at my expense. I replied with I am willing to even take $50 and call it even, the reply was no send the product back and that would be my only choice to get any of my $80 back. I was so shocked I could not believe it. Please warn everyone possible.

I purchased two of the motorized floats for $69.99 each and received two much cheeper non motorized floats that can be bought online for $13. The add on their website said 100% Money Back Guarantee. I contacted the seller and complained and they said I would have to pay to have the wrong units sent back before they would give me a partial refund. They said that was their policy when their adds stated 100% money back. I asked for a 100% refund as stated in their adds for the motorized floats plus a prepaid shipper label for the inferior cheeper units they shipped me. I also sent all information to PayPal explaining that I was not sent the units I paid for and they sided with the seller saying I did receive something. Not at all good customer relations from Mars196 or PayPal. Im out $139.98 and have two $13 floats I did not order and I don’t want.

Evelyn –

I had the identical experience. Saw an add for motorized inflatable pool lounger at a discount on Facebook. Decided to lookup the sellers web site (Mars196.store), verses ordering from Facebook. Their site looked like one of those sites that offers many unique items. Their price was stated as “Special” and was about 50% off list. The total was around $70 so I took a shot. Took about 4 weeks to be delivered but it was not what I ordered. It was an inflatable pool seat (not motorized) which I could buy for $23 on Amazon, which is also not even listed in their web site. I tried to return for refund and when reading their return policy, discovered that I had to mail it back to an address in China at my expense and only then they will decide if they want to give me a refund. I sent many emails to the only contact information provided (no phone number) and have heard nothing. The scam is a bate and switch, selling something at a great discount for a price that would make it not worth mailing to China for a refund, then ship you something much cheaper, making a great profit. The lesson learned, which I need to warn people of, is to be careful of anything advertised on Facebook or Twitter and read the return/refund policy before you purchase to see if they need you to return it to China instead of where it was shipped from, if so, it’s a scam and run.

Mario –

I am afraid I have also been scammed – several weeks now and I have not received anything. They offer a package tracking app but you have to install special software on your computer, I am afraid the software is some type of spyware so I have not tried to load it. There is no conventional way to track the shipment
