Type of a scam Tech Support
As I was surfing the web on my MAC, an alarm started to sound on my computer with a pop up stating that my MAC had developed a virus. It stated that I needed to call a MAC technician at 1(844)525-6428. Got halfway through the call before I realized I in fact wasn’t talking to Apple, but a scammer. Called Apple and they confirmed that this was a scam & gave me the correct directions to reverse what they had done to my computer. These people then continued to call me off of several different numbers to try and convince me to download this "centrix" onto my MAC. After I informed them that I was aware of their scam, the caller hung up.
