Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I advertised my timeshare for sale on Craigslist. Louise Fischer contacted me thru craigslist. Through a number of emails, Louise wanted to buy my timeshare, pay all the closing costs, and all business would be handled by her broker, Richard Lane – [email protected] 504-517-2064. Louise was going out of town for 10 weeks (hard of hearing problem – Audiology Center) and Richard was out of the country. BUT to expedite the closing, Louise would send me a certified check for $2900 – I would keep $500 – and then forward $2400 to Richard – which was NOT coming out of the timeshare sales proceeds. I immediately responded that this was a scam and have heard nothing since.
