Type of a scam Government Grant
Scammer posed as a friend of mine on social media, telling me about government grant program. Indicated that they (my friend) had applied and received a grant. Was approved and received cash within 24 hours. Provided a phone number for the agent they worked with. I called, provided some basic information and was told I was approved, but had to send money for the delivery cost, as cash would be delivered directly to me. At that point I realized it was a scam, free grant money does cost. However, I did provide enough basic information, that a true professional scam might be able to use the information for other fraud actions.
