Type of a scam Debt Collections
Received a call on 5/30/18 from a representative named "Sarah" advising that her office had been retained to settle a debt for past due/unpaid payday loans. Was told that if not paid or settled that next step would be to serve me papers to appear in court. The payday loans referenced were from 2007…yes, 11 years ago. Sarah had a ton of information and to prove that they were a legit collection attorney office began to share my info: DL #, Prior name, addresses, even a prior judgment. I asked for written and emailed correspondence on the "debt" and was advised that would need to review with the overseeing attorney 1st and that contact had already been made by the payday loan company in 2007. I advised that no one would pay off any supposed debt without documentation. Still no email from them. There is no info online for this company…so I will be interested in whether I really do get "served papers". Need help researching into this as its troubling and disturbing how much info they have.
