Type of a scam Home Improvement
There is a locksmith operation using a phony address. The company is Locksmith Voorhees. They claim to have a hub at 331 Preston Ave. in Voorhees, NJ. The website they use is http://www.locksmithvoorhees.com. It is a call center that dispatched random locksmiths to customers.
I recently used their services, despite being a bit skeptical. They did a nice job and the locksmith was professional and polite. I later read online that there are locksmith scams. The locksmith showed up in an unmarked van and did not have a business card, but provided me a receipt. The receipt had no address on it. An online article stated that some locksmiths may be operating illegally and may be unlicensed.
The following is the contact phone number for this locksmith “business”
(856) 295-9242. – main phone number
The first locksmith that called me to make an appointment after I initially called them had a California cell phone number.
The second locksmith that called me from a Philadelphia cell phone number and eventually was the one to come and change my locks.
The whole ordeal was a bit strange but I did not think much of it until looking online later and reading that these types of outcall locksmiths my be Undocumented Immigrants and Illegal Operations.
