Lease Baron

Alexander – Apr 20, 2020

Victim Location 90265

Total money lost $5,000

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

This individual has a history of contacting individuals off of auto lease takeover services such as swapalease.com, taking possession of the individual’s cars, promising to pay the monthly lease payments yet never doing so. He sublets the cars by the day, putting a significant amount of miles on them and not covering any damage that he or his subletter’s cause to the vehicle.

He caused damages in excess of $5000 to my car in just over a month.

Hi Jeff with LeaseBaron here. We have no idea who this person is as they’ve chosen to remain anonymous.

However, given the seriousness of these allegations, we’d like to encourage this individual to contact us directly so that we may discuss a potential resolution. (866) 445-5418

To our knowledge, any vehicle we’ve returned to clients have been in the condition in which the vehicle was delivered to us. Neither I, nor any member of our team, is aware of an instance where damage was caused during a rental that somehow went unaddressed. If there were damages that we somehow overlooked, we’d like to rectify the situation as quickly and amicably as possible

In reference to the most serious of this person’s allegations, We DO NOT USE CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS when making payments. All payments to finance companies or lessees are made via ACH withdrawal. With regards to payments, I can say with all confidence that if a payment was required to be made prior to the sale of said vehicle, then that payment was made. We’re inclined to think this person has our company mistaken with another.

We regret this person’s experience failed to live up to their expectations. I personally work hard to ensure clients have familiarized themselves with the terms of the agreement prior to consigning their vehicle with us. If this person has, in fact, worked with us, it’s my belief this complaint is little more than a misunderstanding.

I kindly ask that you contact me directly at (866) 445-5418. Give us a fair opportunity to get to the bottom of whatever happened and resolve it accordingly.
