They basically make it appear that your computer has been hacked/infected with a virus. They display a pngage saying this and giving the contact number. When you call they ask you to go to a site and download software that allows them to go into your computer. They find a problem (not really there), and trick you into spending money on a program for a very high cost (it can be purchased elsewhere for a lot less or is even free!). They are very savvy and if you do fall victim to them (which sadly I did), they offer you free updates but then find other problems so that you can give them even more money!
Luckily, I woke up before I paid them any more and am now pursuing getting my money back.
