Type of a scam Online Purchase

Answered add on Craigslist for camper for sale (South Jersey section). Answered by text to 1-609-416-1993. Response was that it was his mother’s and to send her email for details to [email protected] Also answer the same camper add posted on the Craigslist (Jersey Shore section) and got the same text response this time from 412-301-7854 to contact his mother.

I sent email to [email protected] and she said husband had died on heart attach and that she was living now with parents in KS and trailer was packaged and ready to ship and that whole process would be handled through the "Amazon Purchase Protection Program". They review the title, set up shipping and manage the transaction. Camper to be delivered in 4 days and I can inspect and I accept or send back.

All seemed on the up and up until I got the attached invoice in an email from [email protected] (not from @…amazon.com). Very official looking, included her and my name and address, shipping company and tracking number ( I called shipping company and they confirmed fraud). Also included Customer Service number for Amazon if 1-888-497-3136 that was not answered. Funny thing was that this Amazon service requires that you pay the money for the camper with Amazon gift cards (recommended I pay cash only for them…lol!!!)

Add was pulled from CraigsList, and have not asked for funds….yet.
