Type of a scam Phishing

I received phone call on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from Johnson, Smith & Associates where the phone call was marked as "unknown". I did not answer, but they left a message. The message said, "Hi this is Natosha Cook from the office of Johnson, Smith & Associates. I’m calling in regard to legal documents that we have in our office and that we are looking to have delivered on Thursday between 12 and 3, but we need to confirm that someone over 18 can sign for these documents upon delivery. The recipient is listed as Jamie L*** and this is listed as the point of contact for Jamie. It’s imperative that she contact Johnson, Smith & Associates to either confirm or reschedule this delivery. As this is pertaining to legal documents. It’s important that Jamie contact our legal department at phone number 855-816-8637. Once again that number is 855-816-8637. And the case number that Jamie will need is 306292. It’s imperative that Jamie contact our legal department as soon as possible. Thank you and I hope you have a great day.”

This person had my phone number which has not been listed or given to anyone, since I left Texas 10 years ago and she knew my daughter’s name.

I called the number back (from a different phone) and a male answered. I told him I was returning a call that was left as a voice mail regarding Jamie ***. He asked for the case number and I gave him the 306292 number. He transferred me to Natosha. I asked her what this was in reference to because I wasn’t sure this was on the up in up or not, since the number was identified as an “unknown” caller. She said she works for Johnson, Smith & Associates which is a law firm and they were trying to locate Jamie ***. They asked my relationship to Jamie. I told them I was her mother, but I have not seen or heard from her in over 10 years. I asked them again what this was in reference to and they said they had an arbitration suit against Jamie. They wanted my phone number so they could take me off of their list as a point of contact. I told them I didn’t know if I wanted to give them my phone number because I was suspicious of a SCAM and I hung up.
