Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Via the website UpWork I was hired by a "client" to content edit their website. I proceeding to speak with the client via Skype where eventually I was told to purchase equipment through a specific vendor for the project. I was sent a check through this person, was told to mobile deposit it. then proceed to send the $1500 that was deposited to their vendor for the equipment. After approximately 4 hours it was hit with an additional $1500 check back for a fictitious check. So, the check they had me deposit was counterfeit and I was hit $1500 and my account is now overdrawn and I’m getting hit with more fees and don’t know what to do.
