Type of a scam Employment

I was looking for work from home opportunities and answered an ad that was on Google Job Ads for a company under the name of Jackson National Life Insurance Company and the person gave the name of Jennifer Godbold. I received a text asking if i was still interested and when I said yes, they said to do the interview add on Google Hangouts. She then briefed me on the job first and asked if i still wanted to proceed with the interview and then interviewed me after that. She asked normal interview questions. Once completed, she asked me to wait 10 mins until the questions were scored. When she came back I was told I was hired and given a rate of pay. She sent an email confirmation of the position and pay. She said they would provide me with a check to purchase the items needed including a laptop and that someone would be out to my home to make sure everything was set up. I was told I had to purchase the laptop and supplies from only their "vendor". I spent a total of 3 hours with the whole process that first day. The next morning I was told they were going to send me a check via email and that I should mobile deposit it. The check was for $1400 and part of that was supposed to be a sign on fee. When I began asking for the company website and when I would get on-boarding material, they said it would all be provided to me. I called the bank and they said it was a scam. I plan on calling Jackson National Life to alert them as well.
