The company contacted my aunt and left her a message that they were looking for my name and had 2 hours to return the call. My aunt immediately called me and I returned the call to the company. The guy on the phone stated that I had a court litigation held out against me for a debt from a bank account that I had more than 13 years ago. Somehow they had my name, SSN and date of birth, and address. He claimed that paperwork had been mailed to me back in August that I did not respond to. He threatened me that if I did not pay them $700 in 1.5 hours, that the litigation through the courts would resume and I would be responsible for a debt of $1,800. I received an email from him a few minutes later in which he sent a letter for a settlement. It does not have my correct SSN listed on the letter, but it is trying to get me to pay the money by 3pm today. I emailed him back asking for the court paperwork as well as a copy of the letter that was allegedly sent to me in August, and have yet to receive a reply.
