Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare
We tried to sign up for Affordable healthcare and were routed to American Insurance organization. We filled out the form and a man named John Pequeno called a left a voicemail saying he was with iwebquotes. Wife called the number back and got a lady Ann Marie who said she could assist with the sign up. My wife gave her our SN# and Bank Account info. We later got an email from a personal gmail account (very unprofessional looking) stating they were charging us a 125 dollar enrollment fee. We were not given a member ID or any information for our new insurance which also made me question the authenticity of this. We called the number again and "Jim" answered the phone. We asked him to assist us but he said he could not help us in any way. We asked if he could transfer us back to . Jim said he would not transfer us and simply said "[censored] YOU" before hanging up the phone. We were shocked at this so we called back and got … on the line. We explained that Jim’s behavior was unacceptable and that we wished to cancel whatever we had signed up for just a few hours earlier. Ann Marie became hostile and said we can’t cancel and that they have our bank account information already. These are not things I expect to hear from a legit business. I’ve since closed out my bank account and am afraid for my financial safety. They also said we had to pay the 125 penalty (now they refer to it as penalty instead of enrollment fee)
