Saw a post on Facebook (1Supershop) showing a really cool looking Movie quality Star Wars lightsaber with sound effects. Facebook ad redirects you to this website, where they advertise a slightly different but very similar lightsaber (Made of metal and wood – with lights and sound effects) for sale. In retrospect, the $34 price tag should have tipped me off, but its 2018, I thought maybe someone had figured out a way to mass produce for cheap. What you receive in the mail about 15 days later is a cheap plastic toy that couldn’t cost more than 5c to make. In fact the logo on the plastic wrap says "TOYS". The dimensions are nothing like the website says.
If you try to email this business directly they will not respond. Luckily I used Paypal, so I elevated a complaint through them. If Paypal contacts them they will respond, but they request you to ship the product BACK to China in order to receive a refund. Of course shipping with tracking to Hong Kong is more expensive than what I paid for the product to begin with (China’s govt subsidizes product shipping to the US – they know its not worth it to us to ship it back if they send a BS product).
I was lucky that I used Paypal and they provided me a refund. Hopefully they stopped allowing this seller to use their service. I noticed many on Facebook got duped and weren’t so lucky.
