“…this call is from the legal department of the internal revenue service the nature and purpose I’m just calling to inform you that we have received a legal petition notice filed under your name so before this matter goes to the federal courthouse before you get arrested please call immediately on our department number 202-66044, I repeat? 202-660-4432 thank you…”

On December 3, 2015; I was getting my messages off of my voice mail when I came upon a message that said, " This is the legal department of the IRS and we are notifying you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. Please call 1-845-789-4421 to talk with one of our staff members. Please hurry because this is the last call you will receive on this matter." I tried to call this number immediately but all I got was a busy signal for over 20 minutes. Then I went to Google to see if I could find the address on the IRS by using its phone number and I saw where others got the same call using the same phone number and were told the same thing. This is why I am writing to you now. These people were also contacted by someone using this phone number 1-845-789-4421. Please help, this was very upsetting and very unnerving and I am 75 years old. Can you check this out? I hope this will help others not to fall for this type of scam. I don’t know what they wanted because this number was always busy when I called. I never got to talk with anyone. But I am ignoring it if they should call again. Also, the message was automated. I never got to talk with a human.
