Type of a scam Tax Collection
Received a call from ‘IRS’ employee Chris Simmons for ‘Legal Affairs of U.S. Treasury’ and told me to not interrupt him but to get a pen and paper asking how I filed my taxes, via H&R block? Taxact? Or myself? I made my reply…he proceeded to tell me I was audited and that my taxes for 2015 & 2016 were filed incorrectly. At which point he said I owed $5126.00 for the 2 yrs. I asked, If that was true then why haven’t I received anything in the mail and why did I get refunds? He told me to not ask questions until he was finished speaking. So, he continued to talk and I proceeded to ask another question and tell him I wasn’t giving him any financial information or personal information at which point he began to tell me he would be sending me paperwork along with a warrant for my arrest for tax evasion. This was a scanner that Thank God I was previously informed of so, I was very Skeptical. As I Proceeded to ask him questions he hung up on me.
