Type of a scam Phishing
This is not the first time I’ve received a phone call from a strange number. They told me that a warrant was being issued for my arrest for tax evasion, but I’ve not worked in the last several years. My now husband provides for our family and claims me as his wife on taxes every year. I live across from the police station and told them I would turn myself in, and their story changed. They said all I needed to do was pay them the sum of $2150.00 and everything would be taken care of. I told them that I haven’t worked and they said sorry wrong number, but called again today. I told them to quit calling me or I would sue them for harassment and informed them that the IRS does not make phone calls, but instead send out letter correspondence to individuals if it is required.
