Type of a scam Tax Collection
I received two phone calls in past two days from a Washington, DC number with the following message :
"Hello. This call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service, The reason of this call is to inform you the IRS is filing a law suit against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 202-492-8816. I repeat 202-492-8816. Thank you."
When I called back the person identified himself as IRS Federal Investigation Division. When I demanded to speak to a supervisor he said they did not have supervisors and why did I need to talk to a supervisor when I didn’t even know what my case was about. He then turned aggressive in demanding to know who I was and what my problem was. I hung up and will block both numbers 202-492-8816 and 202-640-0414.
I wanted you to be aware this scam is targeting 432 area code numbers.
