They called my husband who was working out of town and told him that they were on their way over to shut off our electric since we had not paid the bill in three months and wanted us to call the 800 number provided. Since I handle the financials I called the 800 number to verify we had not missed payments and the fellow i spoke to, Ben Perkins, said my auto draft had been shut off and even though my bank account showed the payments IPL were not receiving the payments, and in order to prevent disconnect I would need to make a payment via MoneyPak at Kroger and report the confirmation number since my bank payments were not received. I finally was so frustrated by this I hung up on him. I finally looked at my statement and called the local number. Woman looked at my account and said everything was perfect, I had never missed a payment, and I must be getting scammed and not to worry about it! I feel like an [censored]. I never fall for such things but they caught me off guard.

Recieved a call from a number associated with IPL. Upon answering I was given a 1800 numbers to call. When I called the number the person stated I’d won a $100 gift card. He then asked for my credit card information. When I told him he was a thief he gave me a second 1800 number to call.
