My mother was called and told she needed to do a DNA test for cancer screening. They told her if she refused and later got diagnosed with cancer, her insurance would refuse to cover her treatment. They told her, her insurance would pay for it. They sent her a DNA swab kit via fed ex. Enclosed were instructions, and a blurry copy for her signature authorization. Moments after it arrived at her door, they called to walk her through the test. She told them she wanted them to talk to her daughter to verify it wasn’t a scam. They told her they only needed to talk to her and “I assure you, it’s not a scam”. She did not do the test, and is not answering their further calls. They are not leaving any voicemail messages.
