Type of a scam Employment
I received an offer for interview by email from up works which is a freelancing work sight. The offer didn’t appear on their website though. It was in the email to interview at google hangouts from [email protected] with a verification code. the interview was basic interview questions and I was given the results that I was accepted at $** per hour and $** per hour for training. I was instructed that there would be a check in my email in the morning to be deposited to my account for *** for purchase of materials and supplies needed for work from their vendor. I was instructed to keep a *** for myself as a sign on bonus. I didn’t do as instructed. I contacted the bank on the check and couldn’t get a live individual and it kept saying virtual bank. I researched the information given to me and feel that this may be a scam. they are pushing and wanting to know how many minutes it will take for me to get the check deposited. I stated that I was having printer issues and it would take some time. I requested the companies address for the bank and received and address of 2200 Mission College Blvd. Santa Clara, CA 95054-1549. USA, I requested the phone number to the HR department and the number that they gave me is 310-469-9763. when you call this number no one will answer and it says the text mail subscriber cant be reached please leave a voice mail. please contact me in regards to this to know if it is a scam or not. thank you
