…..these are the names they used to contact me. They had a job posting that I replied to on craigslist and at first it seemed legitimate in the way they responded and continued by sending paperwork and such. Thankfully I didn’t give my SS#…the "paperwork" was simple enough where I just had to "sign" something.
I had suspicions about this company though since their website looked basic for a production company and they didn’t show any body of work. Also, they never bothered to talk to me on the phone before hiring me which was odd. Just contacted through email and text. I went to the bank and asked them about the "check" that they sent me to deposit (in which, the check "company" name was from Massachusetts). In which, I was asked to "keep" a portion for myself as an upfront payment (before they dispersed the rest after the shoot)…..and then use the rest to purchase camera rental equipment. I went to the bank though and they confirmed that the check they sent wasn’t real….and I’m SO glad they were able to tell and have seen lots of these checks before. So thankfully I wasn’t effected and dodged a huge bullet! So pleaseeee if you see a job listing like this beware! Hoping whoever reads this sees it in time!
