I am selling a car online, and I have

The first call was clearly a recording, that asked "Is your car still for sale" and when I had the verbal confirmation of "yes" the call disconnected. I immediately received several text messages which seemed like a very interested buyer. After answering all of the questions, the person wanted a car report from two sites:

http://inspectavin.com

http://platinumvin.com

I immediately stopped the engagement. I searched for "vehicle VIN scams" and found your article warning this exact situation! THANK YOU!

Type of a scam Credit Cards

Responding to a craigslist add to sell my car, this person contacted me by text message. After a few inquiries, he asked me to produce a history report using this specific website : http://inspectavin.com. This website does not exist and I was transferred to another website which appeared to be legit (https://official.vin/), and asks for credit card information to produce the final report. However, after further online research, the website does not appear to be trustworthy (created very recently and is not registered with BBB).
