Yet another Craiglist ad gone awry, I was rushed and panicked to find a roommate last minute and so I didn’t check anything twice. These people took advantage of my disoriented and confused state, sending a cashiers check for their deposit and other services they would need to move in. I did not think twice because I needed a roommate in three days or I was screwed. The check cleared, I used their money (none of my own) for their services and then three days later they placed a stop payment on the check. subsequently it took not only the cleared charges but the full 4,800. The debt is growing, and It almost ruined me.
