Victim Location 94618
Type of a scam Utility
Caller purported to be from local utility, PG&E, and caller ID seemed to confirm that [800-743-5000]. Female caller (who knew my name, address, and phone number) indicated that my power would be disconnected within 25 minutes, for 5 days, and PG&E employees were on their way to my address at that time. When I demanded a reason for the shut-off, I was directed to call another phone number [877-405-6590]. That number was answered by a male, who wanted my PG&E account number. When I insisted my account was not past due, he suggested that the error might be on PG&E’s end, but he would need me to provide the date and amount of my last three payments. I asserted he was a fraud, and he ended the call abruptly.
In a Google search, the number I called [877-405-6590] seems to be associated with a freight company,V and WW Transport LLC, in Texas. A second number on that same pngage is a private individual’s cellphone, and she claims its appearance in connection with V and WW Transport is not accurate.
The above has been reported to PG&E customer service.
