Type of a scam Employment
I was originally contacted by Amanda Shepherd who claimed to be HR for Neato Robotics about a customer service job. After initially talking with Amanda via email, I was contacted by Nicole Himler, who said she was taking over for Amanda. We chatted on skype and she offered me a job. Then she sent me a check for $4989.00 to supposedly by software. I was instructed to deposit the check right away and await further instruction. Something seemed fishy, so I called Bank of America, which supposedly issued the check (although the Prudential logo is also at the top of the check). They said they could not determine if it was real unless it was deposited. Across the top of the check it says, "Please Deposit This Check Promptly."
Nothing I received had Neato Robotics on it nor has Neato Robotics come up again in discussion with Ms. Himler.
