Type of a scam Phishing
On December 27th , 2017 I was targeted by a live caller (woman)called from what appeared on my message machine as "Out of Area".
She knew my first & last name.
Then asked if I knew my EX spouse. Gave me *** first & last name & said my EX spouse had given as
"contact # " my phone #. She kept saying : " Do you have a pen & paper?
Asked for ME to give my EX spouse ( though had my ex spouse gender wrong) this phone # 855-975-4750 & a reference # for my EX spouse to call ( reference# I will give ScamPulse.com if they need it).
I kept asking who she was or from what company and what was this about?
She kept replying: " I cannot give that information".
I finally hung up.
I immediately checked my answering machine & some days BEFORE ( December 20th at 11:46 a.m.) there was a message from SAME EXACT # 855-975-4750. My machine said: " Caller withheld their identity".
Exact message left was:
" Your name & Social Security. This requires a direct & immediate response. Either press 5 to connect to a representative or call back at 855- 975-4750".
