Total money lost $149

Type of a scam Tech Support

A few years ago I had problems with my computer. They said they could fix it over the phone for $149. After a few months my computer messed up again. I received a call from the same company asking for my bank info so they could refund my money. They were very persistent but i refused and didn’t hear back from them for a long time. Then I got another call earlier this year with the same scam and they said that ther were the ”Geek Squad" Their number was 1-630-567-8930. Now, today I received another call threatening to debit funds from my account. This is the same company using a different number.

Rec’d message on 03/18/19, first part cut off, but gave telephone # to call or account would be debited on 03/19/19 to continue subscription. Called number. Provided them with no information except name. Person at number knew my home address. I did not confirm. Asked what subscription was for. Told me tech support begun in 2017. Advised never purchased subscription. Told them NOT to debit my account – gave no account information, but did request what account they intended to charge. Called sheriff’s department. Advised to monitor bank accounts and report any suspicious activity.
