I rarely use my phone, so I wasn’t surprised when I saw voicemail from Humana, my insurance company. The voice sounded like the voice in legitimate Humana voicemail, so I didn’t think much about it. The recording also used my full name, and told me to call back right away, using an 8-digit code (started 1073—-). I called the number and the voice recording said it was Humana, and – again – it’s the same recorded voice I usually hear when I speak with Humana.

The voice asked me to enter the 8-digit code, which I started to do. But, part-way through, the voice said, "I’m sorry, I didn’t get that." So, I decided I could actually speak the numbers, which I did.

The voice repeated the number back to me, and asked if that was the correct number. I said, "Yes."

The voice recording said that there was no such 8-digit code in their system, and I should repeat it. So, I did.

The voice said, once again, there was no such 8-digit code. When it asked me to repeat it, instead of forwarding me to an actual person/operator, I realized I may have been scammed. I looked up the 888 phone number and – sure enough – it was a scammer.

I feel like an [censored], falling for that scam. But, I’m not sure they can do much with just my name (pronounced incorrectly) and my voice saying, "Yes."

Robocall scam to get "YES" response.

I contacted Humana. The 1-877-230-1225 number is NOT one of theirs. I said NO & automated voice prompted me to say "Message" for message or "wrong number." I said message and then it proceeded to tell me to redial 1-877-230-1225 and enter this seven digit pin: 1363671. Humana has made note of this and have sent it to their fraud team. I said this is one of multiple complaints regarding the same type of situation.

I just changed jobs and my Humana insurance started on 4/1. Received a call on 4/4 with an automated voice that said my name, birth date and coverage start date. Asked if the info was correct, I stupidly said yes, then remembered the scamming that’s going on. Hung up right afterwards. Googled the number and came back not associated with Humana. Had fraudulent charges on my credit card the next morning in New Jersey.

Received a call from someone claiming to be Humana Insurance which is my provider. They told me I had a problem with my insurance. I didn’t give them any information but asked some questions and they quickly hung up. I immediately called the number back that was on my caller ID and it was busy. I called the number on my insurance card for Humana and spoke with a representative and verified that the call was not from Humana but a scam.

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I was e-mailed from a Coca-Cola sweepstakes representative that I had winnings. To collect these winning I was to give personal information including my credit union account routing number. Coca-Cola stated that Humana is involved and will deposit $4600.00 into my account. To collect my winnings I was to comply by sending a person in Illinois $4000.00 and $600.00 to another person via Western Union moneygram in Nigeria.

Today I received a warning of "refer to maker" copy of the Humana check from my credit union. Evidently the check was insufficient. I now have to pay the credit union $4600.00. I have not heard back from the Coca-Cola representative.
