Total money lost $5,000
Type of a scam Employment
Job listed on Indeed for a CSR for a reputable company in Hickory. I knew this company I trusted this company. I got the job, it was a remote pt position and the lady sent me a check to pay for equipment that I would need to do the job. At first it seemed a little odd and I checked on the company’s a real job and it was listed. So I deposited the check and she told who to send the money to. My bank didn’t hold the check which was a sizable amount and I could not cover it if it came back NSF. Gave me credit and when the check came back my bank didn’t call me to let me know. They just took the money from me. And I don’t know what to do.
