Total money lost $24.99
Type of a scam Online Purchase
I saw an ad on Instagram about an "egg cooker kit" for $24.99. I clicked on the link and I placed my order. I placed my order on Feb 7, 2018. I received an email confirmation on March 2 stating my order is on its way with a tracking link. When I clicked on the link, it didn’t give me any tracking information except that "it’s on its way". On March 7, I sent them an email that the link they sent me doesn’t work and if they could send me an "official" tracking link. On March 9, the sent me an email, advising me my product was in transit and attached the same link they sent me previously. Again it didn’t work. The same day, I responded with a screen shot of the link when I click on it, explaining to them the link is not official and asked them if it was being sent via USPS, UPS, or FEDEX… On March 13, they responded with "I’m sorry for the delay, The Spring Festival in China required at 7 days for every regular company. The attached is the newest tracking information for you, please check it." But there was NO new tracking information. On March 15, I sent another email asking the same questions about my tracking #, advising the tracking link doesn’t work and asking AGAIN how will the package arrive. On March 16, the sent the same link, only this time it looks like it was something they had "cut and paste" and asking me to be patient because it is an international shipping and that they attached the tracking link. AGAIN link not working. On March 24 I asked for a refund. They responded on March 24 with "THANKS FOR YOUR MESSAGE AND SORRY FOR THE DELAY. WE/VE CHECKED THE STATUS OF YOUR PARCEL AND IT IS STILL IN TRANSIT. USUALLY THE DELIVERY TIME WILL BE 2-4 WEEKS. WE’D LIKE TO ASK OUR MANAGER TO GIVE YOU 5% DISCOUNT FOR THE LATESHIPMENT. COULD YOU ACCEPT IT? THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE SINCE IT’S AN INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENT. HOPE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND". On March 25, I responded with a demand for a refund and earlier that evening I went to Walgreen to find the exact same product on their shelf for 11.99. I then went on their website and read their refund policy and it stated "Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days."
On March 25 they responded with "Sorry, we have no other choice, that is, we cannot cancel the order for you because it is already in transit. You can only accept the discounts we receive after receiving the package. Sorry, I hope you understand." With that respond, my blood boiled over and I lost my mind. Today, April 3 I sent another email advising them that my product still hasn’t arrived. I am working with my credit card company, which luckily I used a prepaid credit card, with hopes they will be able to just reverse the charge.
