Type of a scam Employment

I applied for a receptionist position on the website Indeed.com. I got a text asking me to log into hangouts and connect with [email protected] He stated HRA Pharma is going to open an office here in 3 months. They sent me a check for $5600 for a sign on bonus and to set up a home office. I thought this didn’t feel right. I found the website for HRA Pharma and called phone number in New Jersey. The lady said company had no plans to coming to Amarillo and that was a scammed. I also the local BBB. They confirmed this too. So thankful I never cashed the check.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

This company contacted me online from Zip recruiter. This company contacted me about a job working from home. After I stated I was interested in the job. They told me they wanted to move forward in the interview process and I’d be interviewed online please add hangout or Skype. So I added hangout and proceeded with the interview. At the end if the interview He told me he would forward my answers to his supervisor. He did and was told I had the job. Moving on when he came back he told me what my job entailed and how much I would get paid etc and my hours..He was like the company will be sending a check to buy the equipment needed to start the job.He was like they will FedEx the check. They FedEx the check and was told to deposit the check in my bank and send them a email with the deposit receipt.. I took the cashier’s check to my bank because I knew they would verify it before depositing it. They did and they verified it was a fake check and was shredded..People be careful when it seems too good to be true it probably is.
