Type of a scam Online Purchase
Someone by the name of Francis Mora contacted me on a mobile app regarding a used designer wallet I was initially selling for $215. However, he requested that we discuss via email and refused to send money over the app – which is linked to paypal accounts to ensure delivery of payment and products. Instead he sent me a check in the mail. However, the check was in the name of Howard A. Birmiel and the mailer which the check arrived in came from Loya Insurance Company in Smyrna Georgia. Additionally, the check was an overpayment at $1100. When I asked about the overpayment, Mora said that the additional money was for me to pay the "movers" who were going to ship the various products he purchased in the area. The movers were supposedly Walmart2Walmart, it seemed odd so I did not want to deposit the check or send anything. Sure enough, a search of Walmart2Walmart autocompletes with "scam."
