Total money lost $800
Type of a scam Credit Cards
Called Hotels.Com to make hotel reservations and the representative who answered told me that there was a special discount for the room I wanted. It would be $400.00 for 4 nights in San Jose near convention center but, in order to pay for this I would need to get a google card For $400 and scratch of the back of card number and give it to her.
I scratched off the number and she said
It was a zero and I stated an O. Since this easy invalid, I would have to get another google card and precede to do the same thing then it would go threw and I would get my reservations.
When This was done I asked for my confirmation number on the room and they advised In order to get my initial $400 back
I would have to get another $400 google card and again scratch off the number and they would precede to refund me my $400
and give me my hotel reservations confirmation.
At this point I realized something was definitely wrong and not get the 3rd
Card.
They advised me I couldn’t get the confirmation.
I asked them to hold while Called US BANK FRAUD Department. I asked
The fraud Department lady to hold
And established a 3 way call. US BANK
advised the Hotel.com person that they were being recorded and then the conversation begin.
The dialect went on for a little while
And nothing was resolved. The Hotel.Com
Person told the US BANK REPRESENTATIVE again in order for me to get my Intial $400 back I would have to purchase a 3rd Google Card. US BANK
REPRESENTATIVE said that was ridiculous and we would have to file a dispute, the Hotel.Com person stated that was not going to work and then the call
Was disconnected.
