Caller identified themselves as home center asking if I could hear them and I said yes I can and then if I was the homeowner and then I said Yes I am. I understand this is a scam and they hung up.

Caller asks for person by proper full name, indicating that they are from ‘Home Center’ and they paint homes, doors, and windows. Caller hangs up once they get the caller to say "yes", or "okay". Upon callback of the number, you get a voice-message indicating that you have reached the IRS but the voice-box is full.

On going calls from company called "Home Center". Claim to be "following up". Have had several calls and wording varies a little. It is either following up as requested from a few months ago or following up on previous work requested or similar story.
First we just asked to be removed from call list…have at least 3 calls since start of year and a few last year (2 calls in March that I have noted, sure there are others).
Have tried to get company info. Will not give company address. Have been told located in La Jolla and another time Mission Valley.
Have tried to get contractor lic #. Once they just hung up. Another time start with 1…2…3…4, then I hung up. Latest call I got "first number is 2…" then he started asking what type of work we wanted. I hung up.
On line search showed lots of similar calls/complaints with this same company name and method of calling.
